Story Time!

Last night Elizabeth went to a Ladies Christmas Party with me because John was working late. While there Elizabeth got quite a lot of attention!

James is the youngest son of our pastor. He is 13 years old and has down Syndrome. John and I used to help teach his Sunday School class, so he knows us pretty well. He loves babies and is always excited to see Elizabeth. Last night he wanted to read Elizabeth a Christmas story about baby Jesus. It was so cute!

James read each page to her, showing her the pictures

"Can you find the bird?" James asked Elizabeth (and he helped her to point to the bird on the page!)

James was moving around so much he was blurry in many of the pictures!:)

Elizabeth seemed to really enjoy story time with James!

Fletcher Thanksgiving

We had another Thanksgiving this weekend, this one with the Fletchers! There were 9 adults and 4children (although only 3 of them could eat - Elizabeth is not ready for real food yet!) We had a great time! (We were also celebrating Keith's Birthday!)

Here is the spread of food

The kids are all ready to eat! (Poor Sammy - he was pretty tired of waiting!

Here are Mandy and I after cooking! :)

Yumm!!!

Micah, Maddie, and Sammy loved Elizabeth playing with them! She just laid on the floor and they congregated around her. Sammy ran around in a circle he was so excited!

Micah decided to try out Elizabeth's chair!

Elizabeth was mesmerized by the pattern on Keith's shirt - she could not get enough of it!!

Micah was trying to put on John's flipflops! He was so cute!

Getting Ready for Church

Elizabeth was in a very talkative mood this morning! John and I were awoken before our alarm by her "goo's" "gahhh's" and "ahh's"- you would think she would be in a starving rage since she did not get up at all last night, but she was happily talking to her toys, crib or walls!

She continued to talk away as we changed her and dressed her - she is experimenting with all kinds of new sounds!

She is the most gorgeous baby I have ever seen! I love that girl!

Ladies Christmas Event

Every year the Ladies Ministry at High Street has an dinner event. Different ladies hostess and decorate a table - the whole room looks really neat with all the different tables!

This years theme was stories of hope: "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart." Jeremiah 29:11-13

I was asked to share some of my testimony and our story of Elizabeth! There were two other ladies who shared, one who has been battling colon cancer and another who is about to leave for the mission field. It was a great night!

Mandy and I decorated a table using some of the little houses I had and a few other things from Hobby Lobby.

The fabric border was Mandy's idea - it turned out really cute!

Here is our name tag!

All the ornaments on the tree were favors for our guests!

Here Mandy and I are being silly pretending to drink from the glasses
